Deise Klein Leobet

Head of IE International Development Department in North America and IE Alumna IMBA 2004

External Relations professional with extensive experience in Business Development, Marketing and Sales, Deise has worked for private companies, international organizations and educational institutions. She is currently the head of IE’s International Development Department in North America. Prior to IE, she worked for the InterAmerican Development Bank (IDB,) where she led the External Relations Department in Brazil and launched several initiatives to help entrepreneurs and NGOs. She began her professional career as a broadcast and print journalist and has worked for multiple news channels and media, including The Philadelphia Inquirer, Folha de Sao Paulo, Gazeta Mercantil and TV Manchete. She was one of 10 journalists from all over the world to be awarded the Alfred Friendly Press Fellowship. In 1997, she launched her own communications agency in Brasilia, Brazil, as her first steps in entrepreneurship. She graduated from IE´s MBA Program in 2004 and has been directly involved in IE’s international expansion outside of North America including Asia, Middle East and Africa, Europe and CIS.. Throughout her career, Deise has been always actively involved in strategies to support professional women, having launched events and activities in Russia, Germany, Portugal, France, UK, Japan, Turkey and the US. She has been part of 85Broads, Forte Foundation, Womensphere and a frequent speaker at Women in Leadership conferences. Deise considers herself a global citizen, since she has lived in seven countries and visited more than 100 for leisure and work.
