Concepción Galdón is director of Area 31, the space for entrepreneurship and innovation at IE Business School and president of the social venture Puentes Global. Within Area 31, Concepción supports startups in the incubator, startup competitions, hackathons, demo days with investors, etc. and leads IE’s Social Innovation Cluster. She is also professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at IE Business School and PhD Candidate at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Her PhD research focuses on the use of technology in social entrepreneurship. She´s a member of Ashoka Spain’s Venture Board.
Concepción holds a BA in Economics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a Masters in Public Administration/ International Development by Harvard Kennedy School. Her past professional experience includes the foundation of an NGO, UN’s Procurement Service, Santander Bank’s Latin America Division and Liberia’s Government under Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, Nobel Peace Prize 2011.
